Since 2020, the Louis Roederer Foundation has supported the Académie de France à Rome - Villa Médicis. The Academy contributes to the promotion of contemporary creation by welcoming sixteen Fellows each year. In 2024, the Foundation is stepping up its commitment by creating two production grants to support two fellows of the 2023-2024 class in the realisation of their project.

Every year, the Louis Roederer Foundation supports the Fellows' end-of-year exhibition, an artistic gathering at the crossroads of various practices, from the visual arts to musical composition, literature, architecture, stage direction, art history and theory.

Running from 8 June to 8 September 2024 and commissioned by the Rome-based collective IUNO, the exhibition entitled ‘A più voci’ (In several voices) suggests one possible group score produced by individual artists. The Fellows are linked by their shared experience at Villa Medici, which creates some unexpected resonances and collaborations.

Recurring themes emerge: the plant world, the body and its transformations, forms of resistance, the dialectic between exterior and interior, not forgetting the figure of Rome, a city both real and fantasized. During their year in Rome, the Fellows experience their residency as a laboratory for experimentation, offering the chance to develop long-term research, explore new avenues, and allow themselves to be surprised by encounters with other artistic practices and geographies. The annual exhibition is an extension of this experience. It is also an opportunity to question the form of projects that escape conventional exhibition categories. How do you materialize ongoing research? How can the visual and performing arts be linked?
